I home cook (supplemented with BalanceIt) for my little girl, but I also use kibble as a back up when I go to work and I don't want to leave fresh food that could spoil if left out too long. I have researched a lot of food, and I mostly feed Fromm Four Star Nutritionals, but I also feed Orijen and Acana. I've also heard excellent things about Nature's Logic. Fromm is a small company that has never had a recall, and their customer service is excellent. You probably should start a new thread, so that you can get more responses. Welcome to YorkieTalk.

They were both originally eating Cesars, but the vet told me the dog I have has I tartar on back teeth so I got her to start eating dry food - 'Wellness small bites for toy breeds' and 'Wellness treats'. She was eating it ok. I was also giving her Nutrident treats. Now she stopped eating. She only eats occasionally if I hand feed her and even turns down some of her treats. I love her so much and want her to have the best so I am trying to get her on a dry dog food that is the healthiest for a small toy dog.. she is about 5 lbs. I now am trying to get her to eat: Pure Vita, Lotus, Acana or Natural Planet Organics... I do not know much about dog food but the pet shops told me Lotus and Acana are best. One person told me Lotus was better because Arcana is too high in protein and could hurt their tiny livers after too long a period of feeding them this. I do not want to start with table food because I think that will only make things harder. Can anyone please comment on the best dry dog food and what I should do to get her to start eating again [aside from feeding wet or table food]. Also does anyone know why PetzLife Oral Gel is not sold in any pet store? Was it recalled or is it dangerous, ineffective? I went to petgoods, petsmart, petland and petco yesterday and they did not have it and never even heard about it. I am also looking for a good gel to use to help her teeth. Thanks so much. |
