When I had it up before it wasn't my first choice. But I was on a busy street. I even thought about rehoming him. But I couldn't do it. Now I wish I would of if it would of saved his life.
I did get a new puppy(for the kids), I don't think I will be installing the fence because I have the chance to train him from a baby at my new house. Unfortunately I think he will be a little smaller full grown than I wanted. I was thinking about doing this dog run thing the breeder had connected to a doggy door. It was covered to protect from birds and other animals. |
That does put a different spin on things.... You lost your little guy... You do what you feel is best.... Do what you can to keep the loss from happening again.... I like the covered dog run idea better than a shock collar/invisible fence.... but you do what you need to do... At least here where we live, I would never let our 5 lbs dog out with out direct supervision... we have eagles, coyotes and other dogs... never unattended in an uncovered environment.... not here.
