Also, winter is so harsh on their skin & our's...it dries it out & the heater exasperates the situation. The dry skin could be from that along w/flea allergic dermatitis...one very itchy pup!
Dawn is great bc the pH is similar to pet shampoo, but it is drying, gets all the grease out. It should be followed by a good conditioner, leave it on for 5-10 mins. Wrap your pup up in a warm towel so he doesn't get too cold. BTW, you can use reg pet shampoo, fleas don't like the water & any shampoo will do. Make sure you wet the pup's head 1st, put a ring of shampoo around the neck so the fleas do not get a chance to run to the top. |
