There was an owl attack recently in Alaska where a Yorkiepoo was killed, and I'm always surprised at the reaction many people have stories like that. They laugh. I took some pictures of an eagle near my house yesterday, and I got the same thing.
I in no way put a dog on the same level as a human, but would people react the same way if it were a baby being attacked? Where do you draw the line between funny and traumatic?
I have to admit that I ignorantly smiled at those stories before I fell in love with little dogs about 10 years ago. It's nature meets civilization, and the eagle is certainly doing nothing wrong. I just think there should be a little more sensitivity toward the victim or potential victims -- the animals and the families that love them.
