I didn't realize the dog was in heat already-the original post was asking how she would know when her dog went into heat because she's 10 months, or a year old, depending on what story is being told and hasn't had her first heat.
But it's okay because she changed her vet like at 7:00 Friday night, and has had all the testing done for her spay surgery for Monday morning. I'm sure they rushed the blood work and labs, since her dr was kind enough to set up the appointment Friday night.
