I have one that is scared of scissors around her face. What I do is have my Dad hold her. It worked @ 1st, but she still fights me. So last time she needed her muzzle/ beard trimmed, I put her in the sink, cut her hair & she had no time to react! I guess the whole positioning thing threw her off, she thought she was getting a bath. I'll have to place her somewhere else if she starts throwing a tantrum in the sink!

I'm not sure why she's the way she is, I never hurt her w/scissors. I did nick her ear w/a clipper when I 1st started grooming. When she was 7 months old, a groomer burned her lip w/hot clipper blade. Not sure if it's bc of that, but she doesn't like the sound of the scissor cutting. She throws her head back. If you can figure out what it is that upsets her, maybe you can figure out how to work around it.

You also need to stay calm & collected, they can pick up on the energy. She might not act like this w/a groomer...I'm a groomer & even tho my dog freaks out w/scissors, I've never had a dog do that to me when I was a mobile groomer. GL!
