I know this is an old thread, Yorkies do occasionally get bigger than the standard of below 7, but what concerns me, is you don't even know if you are getting a purebred if you go to the CKC. Good breeders try to breed to a standard, but occasionally you have smaller or larger pups than normal. I think the larger yorkies can be great if you have a family with children.
