Hi and Welcome to YT! Wish it was under better circumstances though.

If you do a search of YT for Hemorrhagic gastroenteritis or HGE many threads will show up. It is very serious, and if you cannot get him to take the medication, he would do better in a hospital for 3-7 days, depending on the severity of the disease.

The blood test PCV is high in dogs with HGE, and they really should be monitored in hospital until that test shows a normal result. Last time my dog had it, he was on an IV only, nothing by mouth for 3 days, then slowly they got him eating again. It can be different for each dog though.
