Had an amazing Yorkie named Puddin' who had renal failure from age 7 to 12 years old. She lived a great life those last years and just got weaker toward the end. Her renal failure was probably due to the massive amounts of medication she took when she had necrotising encephalitis. I can tell you in her case the progression was slow and she was in no pain (I would not have allowed that). We spent some wonderful times together even when she was weak ,cuddling and floating in the pool. I treasure those times still.
It is difficult of course. Losing the ones we love always is. Just know that you were a good Yorkie mommy and see to all of her needs. Puddin', did not eat well but she would when I hand fed her. I think it was more important to her that she make me happy by eating what I offered to her than her desire to eat.
Best of luck to you and your baby.
