Harry does that too....he puffs and blows and snorts - especially when we reach Andy's place of work - then he really let's us know that HE knows (and he's really unhappy!!!) that we've got to do the backward journey 'home alone'....
When we (sometimes!) leave Harry at home during these journeys....we do that puffing and blowing and snorting business to one another....
I guess it must be an International thing....
