I didn't hear it I've seen it happen. Look at it from a common sense standpoint. Raw meat organs and bone, mostly absorbed into the system with very little waste, dog drinks less because the moisture in the meat is absorbed into their body, 100% natural diet, system processes it more quickly as it's built for this diet.
Kibble, dehydrated whole meats or not, depending on the quality of your kibble, can contain a lot of lab created chemical supplements and corn wheat soy veg fruits, all things not natural to a dogs digestive system. Therefore, it puts more stress on the organs and digestive tract, produces more waste often gas as there is so much unnatural filler. Depending on your dogs immune system and the health of their internal organs, you can get issues. And your dog drinks a lot of water because there is no moisture in the food to hydrate him/her
