If you want to read two of the absolutely most wonderful and interesting books you have ever read --- on this very subject -- please get..

1) When Elephants Weep: The Emotional Life of Animals.
2) Dogs Never Lie About Love : Reflections on the Emotional World of Dogs

by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson

I have a Master's Degree in English Literature - so you know that I have done a lot of reading. The two above books (I think especially the first one) are among the most enjoyable, informative, and educational I have ever read.

They are very well written - very readable - and will evoke a lot of laughter, smiles, and tears.

I shared these books with my brother, who was head of the Psychology Department at a major University for more than 20 years -- and he made them required reading for his students (who thoroughly enjoyed them).

They are for sale at Amazon.com - and probably most other online books stores as well.

Hope those of you who like to read pick them up and share them with your friends.

Believe me - if you read these books, you may consider yourself quite well educated on this very subject.
