$1500 for an AKC male is normal in most areas, especially New England where prices tend to be a bit higher.
It is impossible to guarantee size. The only thing anyone can do is make a wild guess. The chart is a loose guideline. Another loose guideline is to double the weight at 12 weeks.
Still, this is no guarantee. Max was 3 pounds 1 ounce at 13 weeks. He is now 9 pounds. His brother Teddy, same parents, was not even 6 pounds at 8 months. He is now 8 pounds.
Admittedly, they are the biggest of their respective litters. The others stayed within standard.
