My little marker will pee on anything that doesn't pee on him first, so to avoid losing my welcome at my parents house and other friends, I have taken the easy way out & bought belly bands. The only time we use them is when visiting in homes. At PetSmart, I just keep him in a basket in the cart, and if I ever take him in any other store, I just hold him.
Before the belly bands, I could not enjoy a visit anywhere, because I was constantly watching the dog & taking him outside every 15 min to ensure that his bladder stayed empty so that even if he tried to mark, nothing would come out...
I've been very happy that the last 2 times we have visited, there has been nothing inside the belly band, meaning he hasn't even tried to mark; that wasn't my intended purpose, but if it works...
