-Katie Scarlett wears clothes almost every single day. Once in a while we let her go nakee.
-She has some accessories to match but not near enough!
-Methods for fabric care....well if I am sewing it myself I always pre wash the fabric before working with it. If it is something I had made or made myself, I usually either wash on the delicate cycle or handwash her things. I may toss them in the dryer for a few minutes but not long. I let them air dry the rest of the way. Then I either iron all of them or hang them up with a few wrinkles. If I was being lazy and didn't iron out of the wash, I iron in the morning before getting dressed. I can't stand wrinkled clothes on me or her. Drives me crazy. LOL. I have had some dresses made for her though out of fine fabrics and have nice trims that I will have dry cleaned when the time comes. They are just special dresses, not ones she wears alot.
-Hmmm....almost daily! LOL. It's a pitiful addiction, but I can't help it! |
With 6 little yorkies, I have clothes galore!!!! I wash them on delicate in a few net bags and for the "very fine" ones, I hand wash, roll in towel, let air dry, then use my steamer. It is a one that sits on the floor and has a nice hose and large water reservoir and the steam sprout stands ready at about shoulder height and very quickly I can steam 6 little outfits in about 20 min. Every now & then, something will need the touch up of an iron but very rarely. I never dry clean now and even my soft tutus come out wonderful. The net bags are fantastic. If there is velcro, I lach it and the outfit is in the little net bag so it does not get harmed by other stuff. I even have a designated "doggie hamper" for their dirty clothes. I wait until I have a small load and for me w/6 dogs that is usually only 3 days. I always run the water before adding detergent and let it aggitate a minute before adding clothes and when I add softner, I keep a gallon jug premixed with 2 cups softner and add water to fill the gallon. Then I put in 1 cup of the softner mixture when the rinse cycle has filled with water. I too like to air dry mostly and toss in the dryer on perma press or delicate cycle for just a few min. and then steam...
