My boys don't really like having their paws touched. Their front paws seem to be more sensitive. Max hates when I trim the hair around his front pads.
When we are snuggling, if I touch their pads, they often pull their foot away.
It's good that you checked to make sure Alfie's paws are okay. I think it is just a sensitivity.
