Yes. Playing with fire if you don't... It is illegal not to in most areas. If any kind of city/county/state rabies license is available that means it is not just a suggestion.
Our county requires it and both dogs are kicensed.
the city here requires it too, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. Not nearly as converned for that one.
Some vets send the info to the county and others don't (probably varies by area ). It is generally up to the owner, though. The piece of paper the vet prints out for you after vaccination with tgeir siggy is supposed to be sent to the powers that by with a check.
I used to skip it too. But there are some extreme fines in certain counties and cities. Additionally, if pup is involved in any incident where authorities question rabies vaccination you don't want to be caught without it or your pups could suffer for it.
