I use MyFitnessPal too!! Did you exercise at all? It's ok to have a balance of calories left over, in fact, that was always my goal. What MFP does is it takes into account what you intake and what you expell. If you exercise, it gives you back calories. As long as you hit the max calories* with good, healthy food, don't over eat. You also have to consider how much salt, fat, etc your consuming aside from calories itself. Have you looked at your daily breakdown? It can be shocking!!
*max calories MFP gives you as your max intake. Mine is 1200 calories.
