I have been blessed with hearty eaters, even the Yorkie I am pet sitting is a hearty eater. And yes they all go around and check out each others bowls after meal time. They are always disappointed.

Magic my big male, licks the Stainless steel bowls so clean you could have sworn they had been washed.

I am not a fan of free feeding. I pre-measure and weigh out their food, I do this now, because I have found that my eye is not a good measurement tool.

The new puppy we are getting will be on three meals a day for the next month, so what I will do, is divide the adult dogs meals in three, so that they all get to have three meals a day.

Then they will all go back to two meals a day.

Their food amounts are adjusted for exercise levels. On a heavy exercise day everyone gets three meals.

Their training they do get food and toy rewards for, so I cut up the food treats very small. I usually use a mix of carrots, fresh meat cooked, small very small pieces of lowfat cheese. In a 1/2 hour training session multiple pieces of treats are used.
