Question Ear drops for mites- need advice

Hello all! I'm new here.
My puppy had his 8 week check up a few days ago & the vet found that he has ear mites. They gave me prescription drops to put in his ears (two drops twice a day for 7 days)

I have a few questions about this.

When I put the drops in, sometimes one of the two drops will not go all the way into his ear canal, because of his inner ear hair. I don't want to over-medicate by putting a third drop in.. so I'm wondering what you all think about this?

Also, I've received conflicting advice from yorkie owners about how to handle (or NOT handle) their ears when they're this age. His ears are still flopping forward, but obviously when I put the drops in his ears, I have no choice but to lift up the ear. Will this effect how his ears grow/stand up?

I've heard some people say that touching their ears when they're still formative can damage cartilage and result in problems in growth & shape of the ear. However, I've also heard other people say that it's fine.

Any other advice on this ear-mite situation is VERY welcomed and greatly appreciated too!!!

(Also, I very away that 8 weeks is still early for a puppy to be away from the mother, but it was necessary in this case so please be kind)
