Depending on the dog, the C.E.T. chew can be turned into a rubbery, wet potato chip like thing. Many dogs will try to swallow it.
Wylie's Mom almost lost one of her pups this way. She was able to perform the Heimlich and revive her boy.
Often using a larger size with a small dog helps, but not with my guys. Max managed to swallow one and I had to pull one out of Teddy's throat when they got away from me.
Not all dental chews are alike. Some can be swallowed, like Greenies, but those may me nervous too. |
Well good think I decided to ask this question! The assistant that sits up in the front desk at my vets office mention to me that they could be eaten. When I actually took one out of the bag, my gut feeling was that eating these dental chews was probably not a great idea, despite what she had told me. I'm glad I asked! Thank you very much for the response!
