First of all has your pup ever had an episode of low sugar?
Are they eating properly and often threw out the day?
I have never heard of them being use to prevent a Hypoglycemia episode from happening nor have I ever had to use it in all my years of owning or breeding Yorkie pups. Any toy breed can be susceptible to a Hypoglycemia (low sugar). The key to preventing it is to make sure that they are getting their scheduled meals (3-4 per day) and plenty of rest in between meals. It only take one missed meal for these tiny pups to have a low sugar episode. Plus its very importantly not to put them in a stressful situations (such as large crowd during the holidays) The stress from leaving its mother and liter mates is stressful enough. The Karo/Nutri cal are supplemental products that are used if and when a pup has an episode from not eating a proper diet or who is being a finicky eater. Lots of water intake is also very important for these little ones.
Im sure there are some who will disagree with the use of Kayro/Nutri cal but I have never had a pup that was in need of.
It is certainly a good thing to have just in case.
