My boys are very picky about food and treats. I've went through a TON of treats, looking for the perfect ones. They do not like hard dog bones. They don't like treats that are too big for them to chew, and they are picky about flavors as well....
So far, the two things they REALLY like are the freeze dried meats and jerky type treats. Petsmart has the "Simply Nourish" freeze dried meats . If we are at Petco, we get "Halo" freeze dried liver. It comes in a plastic jar.
I am very picky about the jerky I get. First off, I make sure it's made in the USA(please make sure they source their meat in the USA. Meat sourced in China has been making dogs sick). I also make sure that I can easily break the pieces easily. The boys new favorite is "Prairie Dog" steakhouse treats. We will be buying more of that because they can't get enough.
Here is a good tip for you in finding treats....
If you shop at Petsmart.....As long as you are buying specialty stuff that can't be found at places like the grocery store(meaning stuff like Iams, Purina, Caninie Carryouts, Dentasticks, Beggin strips, etc), they will take back the treats if your dog doesn't like them and give you a refund on your money as long as you've got most of the bag left.
I have bought and taken back Blue Buffalo Dental Bones, Wellness, Zukes, Pur-Love, Bill-Jac dog treats and more.
If you aren't sure if it's a brand they will take back if your pup doesn't like it, just ask at the checkout counter and they can tell you before you buy it. This has saved me SOOO much money. I just returned a $20 bag of Blue Buffalo Bones and $9.00 bag of Zukes that the boys wouldn't touch last week.
Also...Wellness has a guarantee on all of their food and treats. As long as you have a receipt to whatever store you bought it at, you can get a refund if they don't like it. The guarantee is written on the back of their packages.
This is good stuff to know if you've got a Yorkie....they can be picky little munchkins!!
