Firstly I'm a man and Crystal has been my friend and companion now for 6 months in which time we have become very close. When the two of us are alone she never leaves me, literally staying within touching distance all day. I'm in my late sixties and wanted the dimension of a companion, particularly when my wife's at work or away visiting her family in Russia.
I am increasingly amazed just how intelligent and empathetic these little creatures are. I've had a few health setbacks since June and was aware something was probably going to change sometime soon. Her empathy and love throughout has been therapeutic, supportive and sympathetic. This tiny soul really does know what's going on, of that I'm sure.
Just once in her period with us she has been poorly and I felt honoured in returning her love and trust by aiding her full recovery, with the help and support I received here.
I think they are seen as particularly effeminate in the UK, along with miniature Poodles but I don't care, their history is redolent with bravery and fearless tenacity - witness their dauntless character.
I love my little Yorkie and walking her is my selfish pleasure. She has made so many admirers on our little sojourns that I know she's truly special. I belatedly learnt today that eventually I may have to get around in a wheel chair and I know she'll still be proud of her Dad. I only hope I pass on before she does, as I'd hate to be in a world where she's not. |
