I have 2 that acts like I'm going to kill them & they see the nail clipper as torture device...I use the kiss-e collar that Mom to Hot Rod makes, it prevents them from trying to bite the nail clipper & it blocks their view. I also wrap them tightly in a towel, make a yorkie burrito, put them on their back (only bc this is the easiest way to see their nails) & trim their nails. By the time I'm done, they're panting & I'm sweating...but the nails are trimmed! TG the other 2 are calmer & let's me trim their nails. P.S. You also need to grab their paws very gently but firmly, don't let go. Otherwise they're going to keep pulling their paw away. If it gets uncontrollably too much, give them a break & go back to it. |
