I would have the breeder send you weekly updates and video(if possible) until you have to make your final decision.This may help with your decision. They're 7 weeks old now and so much can change. I picked a girl puppy when I visited my breeder at 8 weeks then a week before I was set to pick her up I fell for my little guy :-). I had a year old female English bulldog before I got Rasta so I can't say anything about same sex territorial issues but there will be an adjustment period whether you get a male or female puppy. That's great your parents are willing to help!
