The HS I got Peek and Tink from is a kill shelter. Tink was high on the kill list as they thought she had anal gland problems (they didn't know about the liver issues at that time). The norm is 30 days, but I have seen them keep a Pitty for over a year. It all depends on the dog, their age and personality, are they highly adoptable or not... very sad.
Check with the shelter, they may allow you to foster for them. The one HS here does that too. |
