When we first got Jess she didn't make a peep the first few weeks! She was about 11 months old. We were saying "wow this is going to be easy" yeah, well that didn't last. I think the first couple weeks they are so scared and out of sorts they just kind of hibernate. Then when they get a little comfortable it all changes. She started barking at night, every night. For weeks. At my wits end I bought a medium crate, set it up in my daughters room with a bed and a pee pad and miracle of miracles she stopped completely. I don't let her sleep in our beds so this was the best alternative. Just hearing my daughters breathing works. Trust me if she is on an overnight she knows if she isn't there so we drag the cage to another room. (luckily I have four daughters so someone is always home. You may want to try a crate in your room for a while then gradually put her with the other dogs..
