Ask the vet tech or desk clerk, not the vet. They will be more forthcoming, and they are the ones who put the fax in front of the doctor and tell them "sign here".
My tech/desk person made a note on Huey's chart when I dropped by and said I was switching, so that is why it was done so fast, I'm sure. As long as the techs are aware, it will get done, just like the nurse at the doctors office is really the one that runs the joint, not the doc!
