I have never tried Kenchii shears but have heard that they're very nice. IDK if they have ball tipped styles. Professionals use straight shears for everything. I mainly use curved, hardly use the straight. You can use the curved to get the round teddy bear face (face style term for grooming), trim around their paws, trim legs, trim end of tail, pretty much everywhere on the body too. I only use the 4" straight scissors (also ball tipped) to trim the edges of the ear tips. For Momo, I need to trim the hair on his nose bridge & between the eyes bc he has a very short snout & lots of hair, so I use the 4" straight for that.

As for ball tip or not, that's also personal preference & depending on your model. For Momo, I will never use anything but ball tip bc he attacks the grooming tools & moves around too much. I don't want to accidentally poke him or myself. When you're 1st starting out, I highly recommend getting an inexpensive one like Fromm or Top Performance (petedge brand) to get the hang of using the shears. It's good for practice too. After you get the hang of it, then you can invest in better shears if you'd like.
