Pet Store Visit Problems--germy floors? Yes, I enjoy taking Taffy into the small family-owned pet shop. I know there is not much room for large dogs, but smaller pets often come inside. The clerks immediately help if there are any accidents. Now, Pet Smart is so large that if the owners don't tell the clerks that their dog peed, then it may go unnoticed. I saw one boxer lift his leg and pee on a bag of dog food on a corner shelf! The owner was not paying any attention, chatting to a friend, so I let a clerk know, and they called for somebody to go to the aisle with a mop. I don't know what they did with the wet dog food bag!
The trouble is as time goes on more and more pee scents end up all over these bigger stores, and it draws more dogs to want to leave their own marks. I usually let Taffy ride in the cart there because I feel it is cleaner for him up higher and there are Big dogs walking around on leashes quite often. I sure hope there is a lot of floor washing going on in the big stores--Yuck!! |
