I've never owned a female yorkie(even though I really want one)..but what I do own is 2 males.

I rescued an older male who is VERY dominant, especially when it comes to mommy, and I had also heard that you always place a dog with the opposite sex, so when it came to looking for a new playmate, I was just looking for females.

i ended up coming across a little male. He's very calm and submissive. Plus, he was SOOO adorable. I couldn't resist!! He fit's perfectly into my pack and him and my older male are best friends.

Even though I am missing dressing up a little girl, I don't regret for a second, getting my little guy. While sex may be a factor in placing 2 dogs together, it's definitely not the only factor. I think personality matters MUCH MORE than gender!! If you 2 dogs with dominant personalities, regardless of their sex, they may not get along.
