I would suggest you do not focus just on size. There are plenty of good breeders out there that breed dogs that are in the 7 to 8 lb range and sometimes some of the pups will be bigger. Please study the Yorkie standard and look for parents that have good structure. Yorkies that are in the 7 to 10 lbs range are also very hardy if bred properly. Just because a dog weighs a lot does not necessarily make it sound.

Also agree with LadyJane, check out the rescue groups in your area if you would be willing to adopt a little older yorkie. Sadly some people will get rid of their yorkie just because it is to big.
