My co worker had 2 chows....my son and I were invited to go into her back yard to get firewood. I am very leary about chows, as, while I am sure there are thousands of sweet chows out there, I have never met one. My coworker, my son and I were standing by the wood, and one of those chows quietly walked up to my son, and without a word, clamped down on his forearm. You never know for certain, what a dog may or may not do.
