As long as there is no concern ovet the cream getting the area wet as KJC said, then Neosporin is fine. But as the vet said, licking is not good. Have to prevent it...
I use topicals all the time. We just cover it woth clothes or an ecollar. They have licked the meds before. Not a good thing but they lived.
Just be careful.
