Congratulations on learning this life saving technique!! Tube feeding is precise, and you can deliver exactly as much as you need to deliver to help this baby survive! I would do supplemental tube feedings....feeding him every 4 hours, and allowing him to nurse between the tube feedings. If you are using the formula I use, you are giving between 14-16 cal. per cc....you give 1 cc for every oz of babys weight. Always make sure the formula is warm, or he wont digest it....the formula I use is:
1 can Just Born with Colostrum
4 oz Pedialyte
1 raw egg yolk
1 cup live culture yogurt
3 tbsp Dr.Millers Pet Nutra Drops (http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre.....516-449-4698)
You can substitute 1 tbsp Infant Vi-Daylin drops plus 3 tbsp Karo syrup until you can get the Dr. Millers.

Tube feed this formula every 4 hours and put baby back with momma and encourage her to clean baby up and stimulate him to pee and poo...that strengthens the bonding between momma and son....but watch to be sure she does this. Between you feeding baby, be sure he is trying to nurse...his sucking is not strong enough to successfully nourish him, but practice makes perfect!....if he is not gaining weight tube feeding every 4 hours, increase it to every 3 hours....this is around the clock feedings. You should be able to get him turned around after a couple of weeks. Good luck and hang in there....this baby needs you!
