Obviously you encountered a self appointed expert on everything. There seem to be more and more of them out there. They can't seem to contain their vast knowledge no matter what the occasion or location.
There are ways of shutting these experts down without having to get into a discussion with them. I'm sure you have thought of a few comebacks by now. File them in your brain for the next know it all you meet up with.
You just have to wonder how these people manage to navigate through life.
