I live in Brooklyn and would like to get a male Yorkie puppy. I work mostly from my apartment, and it's starting to get lonely around here.

My budget is not huge, but I do want the dog to be healthy, and I also want a purebred so I know what to expect. Went to a puppy store in Bensonhurst, but I'm pretty sure those pups come from a mill.

A rescue is unlikely to have a purebred puppy under 3 months old, so I guess a breeder is my only choice? Are there any breeders who live in apartments in NYC or are they all out in the country? It would be great if I could take the train to look at a litter instead of just looking at photos and descriptions.

Can anyone recommend where to start looking?
