Leaving him at home and having your cousin come in twice a day sounds like the best option. He will be in familiar surroundings and won't be exposed to any new germs or diseases. And if he has any accidents, it won't upset your cousin. He won't be as happy home alone as when you are there, but he will be safe.
Just stress to your cousin to be sure to keep him away from the front door and don't take him outside without a leash, even if you have a fenced yard. People who aren't accustomed to watching animals and/or who don't have one of their own don't always realize how quickly a dog can get away from them. And since Biggie isn't bonded to your cousin he might not respond to them calling him. I used to volunteer at an animal shelter and we got often got calls from people who had been petsitting for a friend and "lost" the dog when they forgot to close a gate or latch a door. |
