My 4 pretty are not habitual barkers, and pretty much bark for a reason. That's how they communicate, and it's ok, but must be limited.
They are my alert system, and it's good that they tell me if someone is in my yard. It's not so good when they bark to tell me it's a bird in the yard, or that a palm frond fell.
Meika likes to guard the ocean side, and barks at surfers, snorkelers and paddle boarders. That can get annoying, but we don't let it go on long, and she stops once I acknowledge someone is there. She's just doing her job, and I'm ok with it. |
