I know it sounds absolutely awful, but don't put ANYTHING in the crate. No towel, no blanket, NOTHING to soak up his pee. It is annoying to have to bathe him everytime. Go and invest in a bottle of waterless bath. You can find it at any petstore. That way you don't have to give him a full bath. By standing in it, he'll realize, "oh....this sucks and mommy won't come and clean it up as soon as I do it....maybe I shouldn't do this."
