Brought the new puppy home today. I was going to introduce the adult dogs to him outside, but it's been pouring rain all day and is very cold out. Instead, I put the puppy in a crate and put the crate in the kitchen. My Rat Terrier, Juke started sniffing it, as did Zoey..however, Zoey backed away from it and kept her distance. After 5 minutes, I let the puppy out and Juke followed him everywhere. Poor Zoey ran upstairs. My Grandma thought maybe we could take them on a walk together. The second Zoey saw the puppy she darted back to the house. The puppy is now sleeping on a folded blanket, and Zoey is hiding upstairs. I decided to go in the bedroom to give Zoey attention, and to show her this puppy hasn't taken her place, but she wants nothing to do with me =(
