Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Why did Aubie have his first vaccinations at 6 months old? Vaccinations should start before 12 weeks of age. I'm not sure exactly which week.
If he has not had one-year boosters of the essential vaccinations, I would be nervous. This would be a topic to discuss with your vet.
Is he marking generally around the house, or just hiking his leg while on the pad? Was he neutered? If he is just hiking while on the pad, move the pad several inches away from any vertical surfaces like a wall. Another idea is to wrap another piddle pad around the pot or other tall object on the pad that is on the floor.
I'm sorry to hear you are often confined to bed. Aubie obviously wants to stay at your side, but he needs some exercise. If you could have someone help you to give Aubie some exercise, even playing indoors, that would be best for his health.
Definitely check in with your vet concerning vaccinations and going outdoors.
