Just speak to the vet about your concern for antibiotics. I can see where she wouldn't give them. Antibiotics are really overused these days, which can eventually lead to problems later. If there isn't an infection from bacteria, it isn't necessary. If antibiotics get overused, bacteria can actually become immune to the antibiotics in the future.
I would definitely talk to the vet about it, though. Go with what you feel is best.
