I file Gus's nails. I don't like to clip them because they are so sharp after and I am scared of cutting to low. He just sits there now. I started when he was a baby. I would put him in my arms and hold him like a baby and play with his paws. I rough handled them and to get him used to me touching them. It wasn't easy at first. It helped when I would sing or hum to him. I hold him and put his paw to my lips and sing or hum. He loves it. He is really good about it now. He'll lay either in my arms or on my lap. He gets his nails filed after every bath,,, (once a week) I've been told that I look foolish doing it by my husband, but others think it's cute. I treat him just like the kids. My daughters still love it when I play with their hair and hum to them. My son on the other hand is too cool for that now.
