I have never really had a huge issue with any of mine getting accustomed to the leash. I think it does take patience and persistence and getting them used to it little by little until it is second nature.

You might try attaching the leash while in the house during normal activities making sure of course that it does not get hooked on anything...must be supervised at all times. Once she is used to it, it is important to teach her not to pull and this can be accomplished by stopping your forward movement until she stops pulling or asking her to sit and rewarding of course whenever she walks nicely without pulling.
