The way the dogs eat these chews is by licking it, get it somewhat soft & then grind it off w/their teeth. There's minimal risk of teeth breakage, but it can happen. They work through the small pcs pretty fast but it still lasts a lot longer than bullies. I took it away when the pcs got too small, about 2-3". So I always got the med or large pcs for them & it lasted 4ever.
They do say that you can nuke the smaller pcs in the microwave to make cheese puffs, but I never tried it...heard that it stinks up the whole house!
It only works sometimes. Maybe with ones that aren't so old? But it doesn't really stink up the house. Just smells liked smoked cheese. Way better smelling than bullys. I've never had a bully that was totally odorless. Those things smell vile to me and I'm usually not that sensitive to smells.
