I use different leashes for different things but Jax is very well trained and he does well on a flexi. It's not hard to reel him in when we have to. But I still don't use them in most public places (i.e. walking in crowded parks, or the city, or pet stores etc). But a few places I'd use a flexi would be a beach (when his 50 ft long lead is not really acceptable) or a large area of grass or a mostly empty park. It really does come in handy though sometimes when a 50ft lead is not really acceptable but a 6ft lead is just not enough.

I have a few different leashes for different occasions lol. His 5ft leather leash is used for city walks, or any more crowded place, I like to keep him close. His 6ft biothane is used for anytime he may get somewhat dirty or wet, or for just regular walking sometimes. His flexi, like I said above. His long line used for certain beaches or fields. So yeah.
