Good afternoon, and welcome!

I'm not sure if this will help at all, but my parents had a miniature Schnauzer 'Sam' who was diagnosed with very narrow ear canals, and were told he had to have an operation to enlarge them or he would go deaf.

At that point he was (I think) 9/10 years old, and my parents thought it a bit too late in life for such an operation. They ensured that he had his ear hair plucked monthly to keep them as clear as possible, and used ear drops as and when necessary.

He lived to well over 15 years of age....and he never did go deaf I truly wish you all the very best in whatever decision you choose to make. Sally + Harry x
