Cobo hall is the only Benched show in Michigan. I think there are only 5 or 6 benched shows left in the USA. In my point of view in regards to most of the Breeders that attend this show it is more about educating the public than it is about selling puppies. I lost count of how many times I was asked about teacups and why my Yorkies looked so much different than the one they have or have seen. With this particular show I don't recall anyone being allowed to leave til the appointed time set in the judging program which the time is usually 4 or 5pm. The biggest problem the DKC has been having is parking issues and the loading and unloading of dogs and equipment. The security is fabulous , you don't have your papers for the dogs you bring in or take out then you can't come in or leave. Some of the breeders I spoke with had declined coming this past year because of the noise from the people mover made their dogs very nervous and they were a wreck in the ring. Other than that there are some minor issues but nothing big that I know of to keep people away other than the parking issues.
